Tall Bed Frames

Tall Bed Frames For Tall People

Tall Bed Frames? What does this term mean? Well different things to different people it seems. Let's explore the common interpretations.

Tall Bed Frames being specialty built bed frames, (or sometimes even custom built frames) specifically for really tall people. We recently hosted visitors from overseas who happened to be 6'3" and 6'8", and we knew as soon as we saw them we were in trouble, as every bed in our house was a regular sized queen bed. For their bed at home, they explained that they'd researched many different options when deciding on a bed set, including commercial available styles such as the Legget and Platt adjustable bed, the adjusta magic bed, and a wall hugger adjustable bed style, but eventually had a local iron worker construct them a custom made bed frame built specifically to accommodate their height. They were then lucky enough to find a latex mattress sale and found one sized to suit their tall bed frame, and completed everything with a mattress genie adjustable bed wedge.

Tall Bed Frames

Tall Bed Frames can also be interpreted as simply a frame for a tall bed, tall being as in the height of the bed. Have you seen just how tall some of the newer beds are recently? Though the height  of these are magnified by the style of box spring base and the plush temperpedic mattresses they come with, they usually have a taller frame  as well. It makes sense, taller people need a bed that's not only longer in length, but also taller in height, which makes it much easier for them to get in and out of vs, a regular sized model. Some adjustable bed models are quite tall as well, e.g. maxwell adjustable beds and the very popular leggett platt adjustable bed.

Then a tall bed frame could mean the frame to a unique bed style as well. Think of a child's bunk bed arrangement, surely the original style of tall bed. These are often custom built, but there are many commercially made models as well.

Generally speaking however, tall bed frames are usually custom built bed frames built for tall people. They'll be extended in length, can have unique bed frame risers, and will need to be matched with a custom mattress size. Put them all together and you have an expensive project, but ask any 6'10" person who's spent too many nights with their legs hanging over the end of the bed, it's worth it!

Great info here. I'll have to pass it onto my brother in law as he has trouble finding a tall bed frame to take his long lanky frame.

Just wondering how they made this chair to give you a weightless experience? Or do you think th is just a marketing ploy? Has anybody reading this ever bought one of these?

My husband is 6'10 and for years he struggled to get a good nights sleep on our store bought regular length bed, but we fially had someone build a frame as you suggested. Best thing we ever did.

Using Symmetry in Decorating the Bedroom

By Anne E. Moss
The eye and mind rest when there is balance in the room. In bedrooms, this can be achieved by having the bed centered with matching bedside tables and lighting fixtures on either side, and by centering a single piece of art work over the head of the bed. Matching dressers on the opposite side of the room can create visual symmetry from the perspective of those lying in bed. By placing a vase or trophy on top of one of the dressers, you softly disrupt the identical quality of the mirrored design elements.
